There are so many social enterprises in the world - but Breadwinners is different. They are not just a normal charity but they also help asylum seekers and young refugees to find their first job and start their career in the UK.

I am proud of being a part of this social enterprise and as the Risers programme comes to an end, we want to celebrate our great victory and success in making a difference in people's lives who need support, and we will continue to do this as long as we can.

My name is Peyman and I am a Market Stall Assistant on the Breadwinners Risers Programme. I am working in Victoria Park market on Sundays, where I am helping to sell bread and speaking with new people. This helps me be social and connect with people to improve my communication skills. Every week I help out at Victoria Park I feel more confident and it gives me energy when I talk to people who are smiling. I feel inspired by the work that I am doing.

Also, having a great mentor like David, I feel that I am entering the next stage of my life. He teaches me a lot of things and inspires me to do big things, which I never expected to do, and reach my dreams. David introduced me to an architect and she told me about the great things I can do in the future. She sent me to some big construction companies, where I can do work experience to improve my skills. This is helpful to me because my dream was always to be an engineer and this is finally happening with David's help!

Our extraordinary customers, by buying bread from us, are helping me and David to continue this amazing work and helping Breadwinners to do more in the future. Thanks to our great customers for helping us and also our volunteers, the team and supporters who work with Breadwinners, they all have a big heart and a goal to help other people and to make the world a better place.

Big thanks to Peyman for sharing this piece with us. If you want to find out more about the Riser’s programme, which Peyman is taking part in, click here. If you are interested in volunteer mentoring with Breadwinners, you can find more info here!
