⚽ Community, Football & Impact: Brighton Winter Cup 2025

Last December, something special happened at Withdean Stadium.

The Brighton Winter Cup 2025 brought together eight teams, over 100 players, and a whole community united by one simple goal: using football to make a real difference.

 More Than Just a Tournament

From the moment the first whistle blew, the energy was incredible. Players competed with passion, supporters cheered from the sidelines, and there was a real sense that this was about more than just winning games.

It was about connection, inclusion, and community.

Thanks to everyone involved, the event raised over £800 in support of Breadwinners, helping refugees and asylum seekers access work, training, and mentorship opportunities.

A Day to Remember

Being there in person, we saw first-hand the energy, excitement, and generosity that made the day so special. From the action on the pitch to the support on the sidelines, it was inspiring to see so many people come together for a shared cause.

As a charity, this kind of support means a great deal to us. It allows us to continue creating opportunities for refugees and asylum seekers to build confidence, gain skills, and access meaningful work.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who took part, supported, and contributed to the success of the day.

A special thank you to the organisers, A Brighter Community and VYD, for choosing to support Breadwinners through this event. Their dedication and commitment made the Brighton Winter Cup not only possible, but truly impactful.

Looking Ahead

Events like this show the power of community in action.

We are always looking for opportunities to collaborate with organisations and individuals who share our mission. If you’d like to support our work or partner with us in the future, we would love to hear from you.
